Local expansions fill long-vacant Disney offices
NOVATO - The closure of The Walt Disney Co.'s digital movie magic group more than three and a half years ago left a 450-job, 120,000-square-foot hole in a large northern Marin County business complex, but planned expansions by three local operations are set to fill nearly all that next year. From spring through summer of next year, a few hundred workers are set to move into two converted hangars that Disney's ImageMovers Digital group occupied from 2008-2010.

New tenants include the global financial monitoring firm Factset Research Systems Inc., travel deal website Travelzoo, Arch Insurance Group Inc., Hill International, and Paycom Payroll. The building is currently 76 percent leased, with 125,000 square feet vacant. In the fall of 2011, the building had 145,000 square feet of vacancy.

OAKLAND, CA-Bayside Communities LLC has acquired the general partner interests in 20 multifamily properties totaling 2,135 units that were part of bankrupt A.F. Evans Development Inc.'s affordable/senior housing portfolio. In addition, Bayside expects to acquire general partner interests in another 12 properties from the A.F. Evans portfolio as consents are obtained in the next few weeks. Bayside bought the interests directly from A.F. Evans as debtor in possession, for an undisclosed price.
